Transformation { Tuesday } : Bentwood Chair

A bentwood chair is named after a furniture making technique of soaking or steaming the wood then bending it into the curved shapes & patterns. This timeless piece has been replicated in a variety of ways and is one of our favorite casual dining chairs. Last month we were presented the task of updating an older white set for a client's breakfast room.

We decided to add a punch of color for this brightly lit space and we pulled inspiration from the perfectly patterned settee used as our breakfast bench.

Peonies make everything pretty and they nicely fit in our small bud vases!

We gave these chairs an updated look by spray painting it a delicious ivy green and adding brand new cushions.

To complete this mix-and-match dining set, we chose teak chairs as the host with their woven texture and natural finish complementing our jute rug and color palette beautifully.
