Home Office : Melody Melikian Photography

We first met Melody five years ago when she had just started out in lifestyle photography and we were wrapping up our first nursery project. We were looking for a photographer and came across her blog where we immediately fell in love with her fresh and simple approach in capturing images. After learning she had a degree in Interior Design and a sister, Melany, who is equally as brilliant and creative, we knew this was going to be a match made in heaven and we've been working together ever since!

When Melody approached us about designing her home office, we knew right away this was going to be one of our favorite projects. The challenge here was creating a work space for both her and Melany, a blogger and her right hand wo(man). We wanted to keep it a productive place to conduct business, but also an über stylish room that flowed with the rest of the house.

That gorgeous desk was the only furniture piece she had in the room and we wanted that to be the focal point, so we pulled it front and center. We decided early on for a black and white color scheme, peppered in with pops of color. How amazing are those oversized lamps from Home Goods?

A camera pencil sharpener was a must! And, we just love how the credenza turned out with the contrast of the textured white doors and the black glossy tabletop.

Melany's corner doubles as a laptop desk and vanity table. Our goal here was to create a nook that keeps her inspired when writing or dreaming up their next big ideas. No writers block here!

A gallery wall was needed to display a stunning collection of photos from her massive portfolio. Choosing our favorites became a much harder task than any of us expected, so we narrowed it down to the emotions, colors, and creativity we loved in each.

The wingback chair in a rich peacock added so much warmth and presence against the ebony table! Lastly, we accessorized her workspace with those giant chess pieces and her very own terrarium.

Every project is unique because it's such a personal experience you go through with your clients, but this collaboration was extra special and a long time coming!
