Boys & cars go hand in hand. When designing for a 4 year old boy, we didn't have to look far for a creative theme when transforming this space into a cool & contemporary junior room. From gasoline barrels, a headlight pendant, and your classic black and white pattern, there was no shortage of details for the littlest of car lovers.
We decided on a monochromatic color palette with a punch of red. To create an area large enough to zoom around, we chose a loft style bed for the rest andrefuelingstation.
Gasoline barrels for the larger toys tucked perfectly under the window.
A storage hub was created with the Bestaunit from IKEA along with the too-perfect vintage car accessories found at HomeGoods. We finished the look by alternating white doors & drawers to create a racing flag. P.S. We almost fainted when we stumbled upon that chain-link table lamp! Another HomeGoods find!
A headlight pendant was suspended in the middle of the room for a grand display and used for additional lighting.
We set up a gallery wall above the race car red play table paired with adorable steel chairs and a charcoal knitted pouf. The mini Tabouret chairs can be found in a variety of colors and will compliment just about any design style.
A racing stripe was created for an energetic wall decor and a wooden monogram was used to resemble the most iconic car emblems.
It's the little things that complete a room & make it feel so personal. We incorporated a few more decor accents, added metal toy bins, and finished off the room with a checkered area rug.
An organized & comfortable space is a must for your growing little one, but combining playful and sophisticated pieces nurture their creative thoughts from every corner. Next up, the dreaded teenage years, but at least we got the door sign ready!
